Appointments
To book an appointment you can either:
- Call the surgery at 8am
 - Come to the surgery and speak to reception
 - Book you appointment through the NHS App / Patient Access app
 - Book online by using the following link here
- This will take you to our Accurx Portal which you can request appointments, prescriptions, sicks notes and much more. More information is provided below.
 
 
Online
Use Accurx only for Non-urgent requests only
 
Our online system is open from 8am till 6:30pm, Monday to Friday
 
Outside of these working hours, please use 111 online or call 111 if you require urgent medical help.
 
When you have submitted a response, we will review your request during the working hours and will tell you what will happen within one working day.
 
After submission, our team with offer one of the following:
 
- An appointment on that day or a later day
  - A phone call on that day or a later day
  - A text message addressing your query and to inform you of what will happen next
  - Advice to go to a pharmacy or another NHS based service
 
 
Our practice will decide what is best for you based on your clinical need

To make sure we help you to the best of our ability please:
 
- Submit one request per problem
  - Do not send duplicate requests
 
We offer telephone triage appointments, please call the surgery from 8am onwards Monday to Friday and you will be added to the doctor's triage list. 
If you require an urgent appointment, please do call us at 8am or come to reception from 9am and we will try our best to accommodate.
If a face-to-face appointment is needed the doctor will arrange this following your telephone consultation with them.
We endeavour to enable 24-hour access for emergency appointments and 48 hours, for routine appointments.
Cancelling an appointment
If you do not require your appointment, please either:
- Call the surgery
 - Cancel through your chosen health app
 
Enhanced Access
Coventry Navigation 1 is offering extra appointments through their Enhanced Access Clinic to all patients of Clay Lane Medical Practice. You can book an appointment with GPs, nurses, and other allied health professionals out of normal opening hours, including the weekends.
Enhanced Access is about giving you the convenience and choice to have your appointment at a time that better suits you or based on your needs. Enhanced  Access appointments are delivered through "hubs". This may mean you need to travel to a different practice to that of your own if you decide to book an enhanced access appointment.
Coventry Navigation 1 started providing enhanced access clinics from June 2022. Regular Saturday clinics will be delivered from COCHC and Clay Lane Health Centre. Specialist clinics for renal and heart failure consultant, Women’s health clinics on Saturday will also be delivered.
Please Note: All Extended access appointments are booked Via your GP practice.
Extended Access Clinic opening times:
- Monday till Friday: 6:30pm till 8:00pm
 - Saturday: 9:00am till 5:00pm
 
Emergencies
A serious emergency will be dealt with at any time of the day or night, and we have 24-hour telephone cover.
Chaperone
This practice has a chaperone policy. For arrangements, please ask at reception. 
Interpretation
If you require an interpreter, please ask at reception, who will contact DA Languages and arrange an interpreter for you. Please  leave at least 48hours for this.
If it makes you more comfortable, you can bring a family member or a friend who can interpret for you. Whether it is to book the appointment or to speak to speak to the GP over the phone or as a face to face appointment

Jeśli potrzebujesz tłumacza, zapytaj w recepcji, a my skontaktujemy się z DA Languages i zorganizujemy dla Ciebie tłumacza. Prosimy o zarezerwowanie co najmniej 48 godzin na wizytę. Jeśli będzie Ci to wygodniejsze, możesz zabrać ze sobą członka rodziny lub znajomego, który będzie dla Ciebie tłumaczem. Niezależnie od tego, czy chcesz umówić się na wizytę, porozmawiać z lekarzem rodzinnym telefonicznie, czy osobiście.

Dacă aveți nevoie de un interpret, vă rugăm să contactați recepția, care va contacta DA Languages și va aranja un interpret pentru dumneavoastră. Vă rugăm să acordați cel puțin 48 de ore pentru acest lucru. Dacă vă simțiți mai confortabil, puteți veni cu un membru al familiei sau un prieten care vă poate interpreta. Ak potrebujete tlmočníka, kontaktujte recepciu, ktorá vás bude kontaktovať s DA languages a zabezpečí tlmočníka. Na to si prosím vyhraďte aspoň 48 hodín. Ak vám to vyhovuje, môžete si so sebou priviesť člena rodiny alebo priateľa, ktorý vám bude tlmočiť. Či už ide o rezerváciu termínu, telefonický rozhovor s praktickým lekárom alebo osobný rozhovor.
